hogwarts houses | hufflepuff
People love to give Hufflepuff a hard time. They love it (I love it), but if you even think about giving a badger a hard time near Professor Ignatius Noble you had better kiss your butt goodbye! The Potions Master is not one to be sneezed at (or coughed on, or vomited near), hard work, determination, and loyalty are the man’s bread and butter, but that’s about all this Ravenclaw ever gathered from him (the guy seriously likes to play it close to the breast), but here’s what his trusted prefects have to say about him
"He might seem all hard and crunchy on the outside, but he really has a soft, mushy center." - Sterling A. Calrissian.
"My experience with Professor Noble has been an interesting one, but he also has always been fair and willing to listen. Even if he threatened to take my animals away." - Aaron Botros.
Now, if those words aren’t badges of honor (hahahahahaha) then I’m a Horklump.

prefects
It was an intense year for the Prefects of all houses, including both Hufflepuff Prefects who joined for their first year with the badge; they were truly thrown into the deep end. As the mist approached and closed in on Hogwarts, requiring a high demand of vigilance from all, the Prefects were out there ready to provide assistance. Could they be truly prepared for dealing with the mist, exams, and fellow students going missing, let alone the ongoing threat of the unknown? I had a chance to catch up with none other than Sterling Calrissian, who will be heading off to play professional Quidditch following her graduation.
Well firstly, you’re just about at an end to your final year. How did it feel when the letter came with your badge?
My first thought was 'finally' because, I mean, hello? The responsibility bit didn't really hit me until later, but I think I handled it well.
For sure, I mean how could we prepare for that level of crazy? What things have you learnt from your leadership this year that you think you will be able to take forward as you graduate?
Mmm, a hard one. Probably not to rely on my elders as much. I mean, I hate to say that, but the whole mist problem could've been handled a bit better, I think we can all agree on that.
You reckon O’Hara was onto something? What were you thinking when everything first started. The animals acting weird, and then slowly as the mist started appearing?
I thought everyone was overreacting to a common weather phenomenon. You know, until I found myself in it. Then it was like, 'yep, this is weird'. Honestly, I didn't even notice the animals until they were gone.
Yeah, who would have imagined a creatureless Hogwarts? It was spooky. What are three of your highlights from this year?
Um...the Hufflepuff party at the beginning of the year, finally getting out of the castle and away from the mist and getting to live in Hogsmeade and sneaking into the shops.
I didn’t even think of sneaking around, sounds kind of fun! And what about the three most challenging things?
The mist, the mist and the mist.
Okay. I’ll give that to you! What could have been more challenging than the mist? Quick questions! Summer or winter?
Summer.
Owl or cat?
Cat.
Describe your time in Hogwarts in three words.
Challenging, fun and rewarding.
What's next for you? University? Time off from structured schooling? Travel?
Actually, I'm going into professional Quidditch with the Appleby Arrows.
That’s fantastic! I’ll have to come and see a game sometime. And lastly, as we say goodbye, do you have any parting words for the younger students?
Don't let the mist discourage you from coming back next term.

Joining Ms Calrissian this term was Aaron Botros, the Campaigner - as we all learnt during an Ancient Runes lesson. This year wasn’t exactly the most enjoyable, with everything that happened, but Aaron was there to do whatever needed to be done as the mist came in, Prefect duties stepped up a notch, and two of our fellow schoolmates disappeared. These were all things Aaron had to step up to help with, and he did just what was needed. Throughout the term, he was there to offer support to both fellow students and Professors. As the mist seeped its way in through the castle, Aaron helped join Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs together as our Badger friends were evacuated from their common room.
But for what it’s worth, the year didn’t start off quite so bad. The well known Quidditch player, who serves as beater for the Under 17 Quidditch Team of England, returned to don his Beater uniform for the Hufflepuff House Team. On top of that, the sixth year also participates in many extracurricular activities; Drama, Flying, Frog Choir, Gobstones, Orchestra, Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare, and Wizard Card Collectors' Club. I’m hoping the summer holidays can be a relaxing time for Aaron, and all students of Hogwarts, to catch up on the things they enjoy.
