hogwarts Houses | Slytherin
Professor Fuller-Thompson is, for lack of better words, an interesting man. He lives in a hut on the Hogwarts’ grounds and is often found grumping around with a plate of bean-toast. Bean-toast is apparently his meal of choice and it looks just as unappealing as it sounds. When the Charms professor returned to Hogwarts to fill the vacant teaching position, he also took on the role of Groundskeeper as well as Slytherin’s Head of House. While I am uncertain of his competency in the other positions, as a Head of House, Professor Fuller-Thompson was… quite relaxed. One could even say he was too relaxed. Fourth year, Eloise Fairfield described her Head of House as a "cool dude" and adds that he's the "best to go to about having beds set on fire, even if you still get in trouble.” And this is the only time I will ever agree with Eloise.
prefects
Seventh year Slytherin prefect Vita Mallari may be new to the position, but she's an old hand at cool decision making and taking care of those around her. We had the chance to ask the Slytherin a few questions about her leadership style and what she'll miss the most before she left us forever.
Congratulations on being asked to be prefect! What did you think when you got the owl?
Thanks! Honestly, I was surprised. I never in a million years expected to be asked. That feeling was followed closely by fear, and then, with some encouragement from loved ones, excitement.
How would you like to introduce yourself to the Hogwarts student body? In a haiku, please.

What was different now that you're a BIG BAD LEADER, versus being anonymous last term?
I'd like to think I wasn't anonymous to everyone, at least not to the ones that count. There was some added pressure that came along with the badge. I wanted to represent my house well.
Do you have a familiar or a pet? Tell us about it in excruciating detail.
I've never had a pet, but I'm partial to owls. I'd love to get one of my own when I've graduated.
If someone else was offered this post next term, what advice would you give them? What would you recommend?
Know that you can't control everything that happens, but you can control how you react to it. Be willing to listen as well as lead by example.
I know that being a leader can be stressful. What do you do to unwind?
I spend time with my boyfriend, with friends, and I enjoy the outdoors. I think unwinding this term has been especially hard to do this term what with the mist making the last option so impossible.
What are you looking for next term?
I'm looking forward to moving on to uni. I'm ready for that.
Crucial question: do you speak French? Will you learn it for next term?
Funnily enough, I'll be attending uni in Paris, so it'll come in handy for me, too. Hogwarts must be following me to France.
Since we all had to leave Hogwarts at the end of the term and it’s hard to know when we’ll return, what will you miss the most about the castle and grounds?
The lake. I've had a lot of good memories there. I made my first friend there.
Any advice to pass to future generations?
Put yourself out there. The right people will find you and love you.

Sixth year Slytherin Patrick Dooley gives the impression of being the strong silent type, but even this prefect succumbed to a reporter bearing gifts of cookies and tea. This particular reporter was fortunate enough to sit down with Dooley for a brief chat about last term and what he's looking forward to for the future.
Congratulations on prefect, Patrick! How do you think it went?
Well as well as it could for a term with impending doom and gloom that came along with the mist, right?
How did this term compare to previous ones?
Well It was a bit different having to evacuate the school when we didn't even have to do that with the inferi attack.
What did you find harder this term than last?
It was a major adjustment to switch from Quidditch Captain to Prefect.
What was easier?
Not having to worry about winning anything, just school and the students safety.
If someone else was offered this post next term, what advice would you give them? What would you recommend?
Don't let the badge change who you are. You need to remember that you're a student too and need to have all the fun (within limits) of a normal student even with the badge.
I know that being a leader can be stressful. What do you do to unwind?
I like to run. I'm often out running the grounds. Or going to the kitchens to cook.
Describe your time at Hogwarts in three words.
eventful, educational, uh... maybe strange.
What are your plans for after school?
I'm really holding out for professional quidditch, but I would be happy with going to university or maybe starting to work at the Ministry.
Since we all had to leave Hogwarts at the end of the term and it’s hard to know when we’ll return, what will you miss the most about the castle and grounds?
I'm going to miss the quidditch pitch since I spent so much time there. But honestly I really am going to miss the common room my last term that place was home.
Any advice to pass to future generations?
Enjoy your time, don't take any of the fun things, even if a bit strange, for granted.
